In Mexico, makes a chilled tea known as Agua de Jamaica which features plenty of sugar to balance natural tartness.
Suggested Uses: It combines especially well with green or black teas and with other herbs such as peppermint, rosehips, spearmint, linden leaf and lemongrass. Also try it mixed with a juice (such as cranberry), lemonade or sparkling water for a refreshing spritzer. Add to potpourris and decorative jars for gorgeous, deep color.
Safety Guidelines: Often intercropped with peanuts, so people with nut allergies should avoid this product.
Directions: To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
