Slippery Elm bark is tough, yet flexible, and has a fibrous texture.
Slippery Elm Inner Bark smells similar to Fenugreek but has a very mucilaginous taste.
The soothing mucilage can be made as tea or used in ointments, poultices, throat lozenges and skin care products.
Directions: To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1 tsp. of herb. Cover and steep 3-5 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
